Students consider climate change to be the most urgent challenge facing society in 2021.
A recent survey by Unite Students has unearthed strong views from students regarding climate change and its impact on their life choices.
53% of the 1,000 students surveyed had checked or planned to check their universities’ specific climate change policies, with 31% saying they would not attend a university with a poor environmental reputation.
Student accommodation providers were also urged to do more, with 63% of students believing it should be compulsory for them to support environmentally friendly living.
Many students are frustrated by the lack of action on the part of governments and organisations; expecting bold measures to be put in place to fight the ongoing battle with climate change.
