Students from 258 universities and colleges have voted for the retailers they considered to be the best communicators, with online retailer ASOS coming out on top.

Clothing brands dominated the top 10, with New Look, Topshop, H&M, Nike Primark, PrettyLittleThing and Urban Outfitters all featuring. Amazon and Tesco also performed well.

What are students most receptive to in retail communication?

Students specified the top five factors in their ranking as ‘effectively communicating relevant offers and discounts’, ‘frequency of communications’, ‘sharing exciting content’, ‘using the right tools to engage students’, and ‘lack of spam/irrelevant content’.

The survey was carried out by Campus Society, a social network aimed at students in the UK.
